Florian Harms
(born 1973), journalist, studied Islamic studies and politics
in Freiburg (Germany) and Damascus (Syria), has done a doctor's
degree about islamic mission on the internet and lives in Hamburg.
He has been travelling Arab countries for years (Libya, Morocco,
Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, U.A.E.) and
has worked for leading German newspapers such as "Sueddeutsche
Zeitung" (Munich) and "Tageszeitung" (Berlin)
and for German television ARD in Cairo (Egypt).
Since April 2002 he works for the internationally renowned "Neue
Zuercher Zeitung" (Zurich) and for leading German newspapers
and magazines like taz, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Der
Standard and Reisen&Geniessen in addition to his career
as a book author and as an editorial assistant at Spiegel Online
in Hamburg.

Lutz Jäkel
(born 1970), photographer, studied Islamic studies and history
in Hamburg (Germany), Sanaa (Yemen) and Damascus (Syria). He
has grown up in Turkey and has extensively travelled in the
Arab world ever since (Libya, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan,
Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Yemen, U.A.E.).
As well as working as a photo-journalist (for publications such
as Neue Zuercher Zeitung, NZZ am Sonntag, Frankfurter Allgemeine
Sonntagszeitung, Sueddeutsche Zeitung, GEO Saison, Spiegel-Online,
Reisen&Geniessen, Tagesspiegel, Diners Club Magazin, Zenith
- Zeitschrift für den Orient) he leads study groups to
Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan for a well-known German travel company
since 1999. He is a member of the photo agency Bilderberg
- Archiv der Fotografen" and of the photographer's
association "Freelens".
